Explore the Dukeries trail
Carved out of Sherwood Forest in Robin Hood Country during the 18th Century for five Dukes. Clumber remains as an extensive park for you and your family to enjoy. Parts of Welbeck (near Worksop) and Thoresby remain accessible to the public.
Mayflower Trail
The Bassetlaw area is famous for being the birthplace of some of the Pilgrim Fathers who sailed on the Mayflower, and became leading members of the New England community. Visit the village of Scrooby where William Brewster lived in the Manor House, discover the churches of Scrooby, Babworth and Sturton-le-Steeple, and see where they fled from back in 1608 initially to Holland and finally leaving on the Mayflower from Plymouth in 1620. Visit the unique mural paintings of Clayworth Church, completed in 1905, part of the heritage of the original artist - Phoebe Anna Traquair.
Discover Clumber Park
You may cycle or walk around the estate, comprising of woods, open heath, farmland and a serpentine lake, or enjoy one of the many activities they have for children and adults, such as the Clumber Show, Clumber music concerts and wildlife trails. The facility will be B&Q's first to contain significant levels of automation - including mini-load tote handling for small parts and a fully automated high-bay pallet storage system. The brownfield site will eventually create around 1,000 jobs.

- The M1 skirts west Bassetlaw, and is a few minutes from the heart of the District via the A57. This puts Bassetlaw in close touch with the rest of the UK and provides access to the M62 Trans-Pennine route;
- The A1 national highway runs through the District and links into the M18 and the M180. This network gives easy access to the Humber and East Coast ports of Boston, Grimsby, Hull, Immingham and Kings Lynn. The site of the channel tunnel rail terminal, south of Doncaster, is just a short drive away.
Rail
The District has excellent rail links, both North-South and East-West.
- The GNER East Coast Mainline runs North-South through Retford linking Edinburgh, Newark, Newcastle, Peterborough, York and London.
- East-West rail links between Lincoln and Sheffield also connect Retford and Worksop.
- The Robin Hood Line provides a direct rail link starting from Worksop through Mansfield to Nottingham.
- From Nottingham and Sheffield, rail links are available to all the major cities in the UK, including Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds and Manchester.
